I've been searching (unsuccessfully) for the UK version of The Prince and
Betty. I went as far as to order TPaB from a UK publisher, but still got
the US edition (the same one that appears on gutenberg.org, with Psmith
transformed to Smith). Has anyone got a recent edition of the UK version,
and if so can you tell me its ISBN number?

Sorry, I can't help you. I only replied so you'd know someone was
reading your post.

Where do you live old man? I do have a spare Newnes edition (1923 I think)
which you are welcome to (for free) but being hard cover the freight may
cost more than the book is worth. This spare copy has a very worn cover (no
dust jacket) but the text is ok but one page is missing (that is why I
replaced it recently) The US version is certainly a better book as the UK
version is only a love story and it was originally published by Mills and
Boon. Of course if you are planning a trip to Australia (or perhaps have
some friends here) I can put it aside for you. The missing page does not
detract from the story too much.

I'm in the US, so, as you say, the freight is probably prohibitive.

Ah, but you say that you repaced it recently. What is the ISBN number of
the replacement (or is that another 1920s edition)?
