And that was to persuade Upjohn to give a half day holiday which would
have pleased the sister of his lady love at the time, is it not?
Barring that I said Bertie instead of Widgeon, other details of the
story appear to be correct.

I think this should be happening in the story where Bertie borrows
Bingo's baby and goes to his old head master's office, and
incidentally leaves the baby in that office.
